Art is a representation of someone’s own perspective on the world they see, including culture, society, ideas, people, beauty, and life itself. Although this is not the case for some artists, it does apply to the vast majority of them. Art is not necessarily a talent that people have, but rather it’s a way of expression. I, personally, do not think that art can be criticized in any way because that is essentially judging someone’s view on life and the world.
As cliché as it may sound, the world is my inspiration for art. I can literally find inspiration for my art everywhere I go and anywhere I look; on the cover of a novel, in an ad on the internet, in other art, in nature, in countless amounts of places. I have no specific artists that have inspired me; however there are many random art pieces that I have seen that has given me inspiration. Not all of my works have nature incorporated in them, it is definitely the most influential element that inspires my art.
My goal as an artist is to really master the idea of expressing creativity in creating and forming designs of all sorts. I enjoy paying attention to fine lines and details and I look forward to further exploring art in that sense. An example of this is the 6th card in my “Cultural ID” set of cards in my artwork page. As you can see I used flowers and detailed all the petals in ways that are not exactly realistic. I look at all the cards that I have created, I can see my distinct style and ideas and that is what I enjoy the most.
